A shocking new poll has revealed that the liberal singer Taylor Swift may sway the results of the 2024 presidential election, as a fifth of voters are “likely” to support the candidate she backs.
Swift May Impact Presidential Election
A poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek found that eighteen percent of voters stated that they are “more likely” or “significantly more likely” to vote for whichever candidate that Swift is supporting.
Meanwhile, seventeen percent said that they would be less likely to vote for a candidate backed by Swift, and 55 percent said that they would not be swayed either way by the “Anti-Hero” singer. A total of 45 percent of the people that responded to the poll said that they were Swift fans, while 54 percent said that they were not.
“She’s influenced popular culture, sports, the economics of entire regions of the U.S.,” said communications consultant James Haggerty. “So why not politics and elections?”
“Swift is in the class by herself,” added media consultant Brad Adgate. “She’s so talented and so popular and so ingrained in pop culture. No one is close to her.”
Swift has become more famous than ever in the past year, with her being named Time Magazine’s 2023 “Person of the Year” and her romance with the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce increasing NFL viewership. On top of that, Swift’s 2023 Eras tour became the first tour to cross the billion-dollar mark.
“Celebrity power in elections has grown because celebrity power itself has grown,” Haggerty said. “Media and social media are now the central organizing framework of many Americans’ lives. And in a world awash in messages, it’s the celebrity voices that really resonate.”
“In a world where a reality show star can become president—and maybe become president twice—all of this makes perfect sense,” he added, referring to the former President Donald Trump, who famously starred on the reality TV show “The Apprentice” nearly two decades ago.
Swift’s Anti-Trump Views
This new poll will come as bad news for Trump, as Swift has been open about being against him politically. Back in 2020, Swift accused Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” in response to comments he made condemning the violence that spread throughout the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” she wrote on social media at the time, according to Daily Mail. “When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump.”
In her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana,” Swift talked about how much she regrets not openly opposing Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
“I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now,” Trump said in response.
Swift told The Guardian in 2020 that Trump is “gaslighting the American public.”
“We’re a democracy – at least, we’re supposed to be – where you’re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate,” she said at the time. “I really think that he thinks this is an autocracy.”
Fox News reported that Swift also accused Trump of cheating in the 2020 presidential election.
“Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly: He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president,” she said. “He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power.”

Biden Already Courting Swift
The Mail reported that Swift endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, and his campaign is already courting her endorsement this year in the hopes that she will help bring in young voters.
Should Kelce’s team win the Super Bowl next month, they’d get the traditional White House invite to mark their victory, and Biden would undoubtedly use this opportunity to woo Swift for her endorsement.
It’s nothing short of disturbing that a pop star like Swift, a proud member of the liberal elite, will seemingly have so much sway over this year’s presidential election. Anyone who would really be swayed by Swift’s political views should really educate themselves about what is actually important for our country at this critical time.
