Yesterday, we reported that a new poll had found that the liberal singer Taylor Swift may sway the results of the 2024 presidential election, as nearly one fifth of voters said that they would back the pop star’s candidate of choice.
Now, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is speaking out to question how much political power Swift really has while also explaining why the “Anti-Hero” singer would be crazy to endorse Joe Biden.
Kelly Sounds Off On Swift
Daily Mail reported that during the latest episode of her eponymous SiriusXM talk show, Kelly scoffed at the conservatives who fear Swift’s alleged political power, saying that “people on the right who I like and respect are pushing this.”
“I don’t know why people are so afraid of her,” Kelly said. “She does have power, she does have influence, she’s told people to go vote and something like 35,000 of them did. But registering to vote is not the same as actually voting.”
Kelly went on to say that while Swift will almost certainly lean left once again this year, this won’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
“Why are people living in fear of this?” she questioned, adding that she “doesn’t happen to be one of” the “vast majority of people” who find Swift interesting before explaining why the “Shake It Off” singer would be making a mistake if she endorsed Biden like she did in 2020.
“If she’s smart, she will stay nonpolitical, which is better for her,” Kelly said. “She will not be the most popular person in America if she continues to antagonize half the country that votes Republican, but whatever.”
Check out Kelly’s full comments on this in the video below. This came after a poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek found that eighteen percent of voters stated that they are “more likely” or “significantly more likely” to vote for whichever candidate that Swift is supporting.
Meanwhile, seventeen percent said that they would be less likely to vote for a candidate backed by Swift, and 55 percent said that they would not be swayed either way by the “Anti-Hero” singer. A total of 45 percent of the people that responded to the poll said that they were Swift fans, while 54 percent said that they were not.
“She’s influenced popular culture, sports, the economics of entire regions of the U.S.,” said communications consultant James Haggerty. “So why not politics and elections?”
“Swift is in the class by herself,” added media consultant Brad Adgate. “She’s so talented and so popular and so ingrained in pop culture. No one is close to her.”
Swift has long been known for being both radically liberal and vehemently anti-Donald Trump. Back in 2020, Swift accused Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” in response to comments he made condemning the violence that spread throughout the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” she wrote on social media at the time, according to The Mail. “When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump.”

Kelly Calls For Swift Boycott
Kelly is one of the few public figures who has had the guts to call out Swift as of late. Last month, Kelly called for Swift to be boycotted after the singer attended a charity event that benefitted a Gaza charity.
“You clearly know nothing,” Kelly said, addressing Swift directly in her rant. “You know what they do to that community in Gaza, Taylor, that you now want to support?”
“You know what Hamas likes to do to women?” she added. “You think we have equal rights over there, Taylor?”
Given how shamelessly liberal Swift has become, we can only hope that Kelly is right about what little power the singer will have in this year’s presidential election. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments section.
