How to get more heat stamps in Frostpunk 2? You’re running a bustling city: workers are getting sick, troublemakers are rampaging in the streets, resources are running low and you need to solve all these problems before everyone dies.

Heat stamps might be the most important element in this terrifying city-building game. You’ll need them for almost every task, from researching new buildings to breaking the ice around your settlement in Frostpunk 2. You might be gifted some heat stamps to get you started, but you’ll quickly run out of them after your first few tasks.

Overview of Frostpunk 2 Heat Stamps from the in-game HUD.

How to get Heat Stamps in Frostpunk 2

There are multiple ways to earn Heat Stamps in Frostpunk 2, but the first and most basic way is through household income. Increasing your population will increase your income. Meeting the demand for goods will also help increase your income, as will enacting certain laws.

As with everything in Frostpunk 2, it’s not easy to make a ton of money just by doing all the things listed below – every action has a reaction, and you’ll need to carefully consider the pros and cons of pursuing these methods of earning an income.

Here’s how you can earn Frostpunk 2 Heat Stamps:

  • Population Income
  • Merchandise Revenue
  • Request funds
  • law
  • Research Project

Population Income

By default, you automatically get Heat Stamp income based on the number of residents you have in your settlement. However, don’t rush to build your residential district and fill it with everyone. More residents means more mouths to feed and more demand for goods and heating. Try to balance population with production.

Frostpunk 2 will show different HUD displays in split screen if you are or aren't fulfilling the demand for goods, which may affect your Heat Stamp income.

Merchandise Revenue

Your base Heat Stamp income per capita is dependent on your city’s ability to meet demand for goods. Your current need is shown at the top of the screen, with a red marker indicating you are not meeting demand. Build or expand Industrial Districts to produce more goods.

The screenshot shows the option to request funds from Forager, which will give you an additional 204 Frostpunk 2 Heat Stamps.

Request funds

If one or more factions in your city are favorable to you, you can request funds from them when you are low on funds. You must have a good relationship with a faction in order to request funds, which is indicated by a gold bar appearing under the faction’s icon. You can request any of these factions to part with funds for your country, but the larger percentage of the population they cover, the more heat stamps they will be able to provide.

Laws on the production of goods, which indirectly affect your income from heat stamps in Frostpunk 2.

law

Some specific laws may directly or indirectly increase heat stamp revenues, and we’ve listed them below. It’s worth remembering that other policies, such as compulsory education, have a negative impact on revenues given their costs.

Survival: Products

You can’t go wrong with either of the two commodity policies. One increases commodity production efficiency, the other decreases demand. Either way, you’ll have a better chance of meeting commodity requirements and increase your heat stamp income per capita. The choice comes down to which faction you want to please.

Economy: Basic necessities

One of the best ways to increase your heat stamp income in the early game is through Basic Necessities laws. Of the two options, Paid Necessities and Free Necessities, the former is obviously the best for increasing your income and also increases the efficiency of your resource production. Free Necessities does increase your trust, so it’s not completely useless. That said, we recommend enforcing Paid Necessities as one of the first laws you enact. If you find yourself struggling to increase your trust later in the game, you can repeal the law and enact Free Necessities instead.

Outsider Laws, which directly impact your heat stamp income in Frostpunk 2.

Economics: Outsiders

This one is a bit trickier. The outsider rules allow you to choose between letting all outsiders into your territory, or letting only the most productive outsiders in and cruelly trapping your family outside your territory. Letting in only the most productive outsiders will improve your overall heat stamp income, but it will force an emotional change in the story and upset some factions. Letting in all outsiders will not directly affect your income, but will indirectly affect it by increasing your population growth.

Economy: Social contribution

Community service policies give community members the opportunity to decide how they will help, whether that be through expeditionary support, resource extraction, or simply dedicating their time wherever it is needed at the time.

Passing the Service Exemption policy will increase Heat Stamp Revenue per capita since residents will have to purchase work exemptions. If increasing Heat Stamp Revenue is a priority, this policy is a good one to pass as it has no drawbacks.

Research Project

Like laws, some research projects also affect your income; they work in a similar way, allowing you to choose from a range of options to please or displease certain factions; however, they are usually related to buildings that need to be researched and then placed in your city to have an effect.

Economy: Housing Allocation

Allocating shelter in some way can increase shelter availability or increase heat stamp income. Meritocratic housing makes housing unavailable to some but increases per capita income. The alternative is to house everyone through forced overcrowding, forcing wealthy families to take in those less fortunate.

Economy: Alcohol

After a while, your citizens will want you to address the issue of alcohol distribution – after all, there aren’t many other ways to stay warm when a whiteout hits. You’ll need to decide whether to privatize alcohol production or increase supply and overall reliability. However, introducing municipal alcohol shops will increase the per capita income from heat stamps again. Choose wisely.

Now that you know how to get more Frostpunk 2 heat stamps, you might be a little closer to maintaining a somewhat functioning city. However, that’s not all: you’ll need to run a Frostpunk 2 council to pass laws, and additional Frostpunk 2 Frostland teams will help you source more coal and other vital resources.
