Dozens of mournful fans of Flaco the Eurasian eagle-owl gathered in New York City on Sunday to say goodbye to the beloved celebrity creature who became an inspiration and joy to many as he flew around Manhattan after someone let him out of his zoo enclosure. A memorial featuring speeches, songs and poems was held in the late afternoon in Central Park at what organizers call Flaco’s favorite oak tree. Flaco was found dead on the Upper West Side on Feb. 23 after apparently hitting a building. Testing by zoologists concluded he suffered traumatic impact injuries, but more testing is planned to…

Oregon’s landmark right-to-repair law is nearly here — today, SB 1596 passed the Oregon legislature, and is headed to Governor Tina Kotek’s desk to sign or veto within the next five days. It’s a big deal, because the Oregon law would be the first to ban “parts pairing,” a practice where companies can keep you from using components (sometimes even official ones) unless that company’s software is satisfied that they belong. Similar to California’s right-to-repair law, the Oregon bill also requires companies to make the same parts, tools, and repair documents available to any owners that it offers to authorized…

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to keep wide receiver Mike Evans in the fold for a couple more years, announcing an agreement on an extension Monday. Now Baker Mayfield is sitting around waiting for that same call or text from his agent with the same news Evans received. It only makes sense after the duo’s first year together, which wound up going much better than anyone outside their facility could’ve imagined. In fact, unless the Buccaneers have a clear-cut better option, it’d be insane if they didn’t bring Baker back. Which NFL QB will be the first one…

The dean of Wall Street CEOs is green. JPMorgan Chase today struck an agreement with three New York City pension funds with investments in the bank valued at $478 million to disclose the ratio of its clean energy to fossil fuel financing. According to the NYC funds, the metric will give investors a more comprehensive view as to how the bank is progressing on its net-zero emissions goals and whether it is ratcheting up its clean-energy financing activities over time.   JPMorgan’s settlement with the three NYC funds, which manage a combined $193 billion in assets, will result in the…

The upgraded version of the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the card_name is my one of my favorite premium cards. It offers a lot of fantastic perks for avid travelers.   Opinion   During Friday’s episode of the ABC talk show “The View,” radically liberal co-host Joy Behar baselessly questioned whether Melania Trump will “dump” her husband if he does not win this year’s presidential election. Behar And ‘The View’ Co-Hosts Bash Melania “She’s stuck with him so far, but if he loses the election, do you think she’ll dump him?” questioned Behar, 81. “She must be sicker of him than we are at this point,” she added. Behar’s co-host Ana Navarro chimed in to reply, “I’m not sure there’s anybody sicker of him than we are.” Navarro went on…
