Credit: CNN The first presidential debate is in the books and the widespread conclusion isn’t about who may have won the clash of ideas, it’s outright concern for the well-being of President Biden. The performance put on by the Commander-in-Chief was so disconcerting that even traditionally friendly media outlets were struggling to sugarcoat what they had just seen. Biden malfunctioned frequently throughout the debate. He incorrectly said his son Beau died in Iraq, he falsely claimed the Border Patrol Union endorsed him, and claimed “we have 1,000 trillionaires in America.” He often mumbled and slurred his words, culminating with this…

That gasp, from patrons at a Chicago bar when President Joe Biden first stumbled verbally in his debate with Donald Trump, spoke for a lot of Americans on Thursday night. In watch parties, bars, a bowling alley and other venues where people across the country gathered to tune in, Trump supporters, happily, and Biden supporters, in their angst if not dread, seemed to largely agree they had witnessed a lopsided showdown. By the end of the 90-plus minutes, some Democrats were saying what partisans say to put the best face on things: It’s still early. One debate doesn’t necessarily sway the nation. Judge…

London, United Kingdom – Tim Flynn, a 71-year-old retired National Heath Service psychotherapist, has voted for the Labour Party all his life. But on July 4, he plans to protest against the party, with a pencil. He will mark a cross on his ballot paper next to his local Green Party candidate. “There’s no way I can vote Labour this time,” he said. “It’s clear where [Labour leader Keir Starmer’s] politics lie. His politics lie with capitalism, with imperialism, with supporting Israel. “If you don’t vote for a ceasefire, you’ve lost my vote.” Flynn’s London constituency, Vauxhall and Camberwell Green,…

Former President Donald Trump was quick to name-check predecessor Ronald Reagan in Thursday’s presidential debate against President Joe Biden.  Trump wasted no time in bringing up Reagan, who is beloved by almost all old school Republicans, and others, to seemingly make his points on abortion. The more significant callback to “Morning in America” was the former president’s ever-so-brief, and not-so-surprising, outline of his economic agenda. The economy, and more so, inflation, was the first topic broached by CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash at the debate. In the opening lines of the matchup, Trump repeatedly hammered President Joe Biden’s…

In the coming weeks, Reddit will start blocking most automated bots from accessing its public data. You’ll need to make a licensing deal, like Google and OpenAI have done, to use Reddit content for model training and other commercial purposes. While this has technically been Reddit’s policy already, the company is now enforcing it by updating its robots.txt file, a core part of the web that dictates how web crawlers are allowed to access a site. “It’s a signal to those who don’t have an agreement with us that they shouldn’t be accessing Reddit data,” the company’s chief legal officer, Ben…
